Manufactured Home Careers

Your Gateway to a Rewarding Career in Manufactured Housing!

Welcome to OMHA

Looking for a rewarding career? The factory-built housing industry offers long-term opportunities in a tremendous variety of fields. Whether you’re an experienced laborer or fresh out of school, our manufacturing and construction fields have a place for those who are eager to implement their skills or learn new ones. If preparing sites and building homes aren’t your thing, how about sales, engineering, CAD, HR, accounting, management, or hauling homes? The possibilities are nearly endless, and many jobs can be learned on-site.

Here are four of our most actively hiring career fields:

    Construction

It’s exactly what you imagine—and so much more. From site prep to home installation, OMHA members and industry partners are seeking to fill their teams with hardworking individuals who don’t mind a little Oregon weather now and then. While this career field mostly offers outdoor work, the rewards go beyond just a stable living. If you’re a home installer, you’re the finishing touch on someone’s new home.

    Transportation

There’s only one way a home gets from the factory to the installation site: Oregon’s amazing truckers! And one of the greatest benefits of the trucking industry in manufactured housing is the schedule. No long hauls taking you away from home overnight or through the weekend. Sunup to sundown, homes will be transported by a network of industry partners, but evenings and weekends are yours. What do you need? Good decision-making skills, a strong sense of calm, and enjoyment of road trips.

Did you know that transportation isn’t just about driving the big trucks? Transporters hauling manufactured homes rely on pilot car drivers for safety and communication, a logistics team for scheduling and obtaining permits, accounting, HR, and other jobs.

    Manufacturing

Factories have a place for you, whether you want to work on the factory floor as an electrician, plumber, roofer, cabinetry maker, or other construction specialist—or you like office work, management, or design and engineering.

Why choose a construction career in a factory? If you enjoy construction but prefer a steady schedule with a baseline salary, growth opportunities, and benefits, manufacturers are an excellent place to seek employment. You’ll get to do what you love but be in a weather-proof facility and home in time for dinner, your kid’s sports event, or the latest episode of Fox 12’s Around the House.

    Retail

This is where you can find a home bringing the dream of homeownership to others. You’re the first point of contact for a homebuyer. You get the privilege of guiding them through the process of customizing their house, understanding the timeline, and connecting them to other businesses, such as lenders, transporters, and construction contractors. This essential part of our industry is built on helpful souls with friendly faces who love to support the dreams of others. Jobs may include sales, accounting, customer service, logistics, and HR.
