Advancing Opportunities for Housing

The Oregon Manufactured Housing Association believes that every Oregonian should receive the opportunity to secure a stable career, achieve safe and attainable housing, and enjoy stress-free retirement. That’s why we work with a contract lobbyist to advocate for policies that will stimulate the labor market, create more land availability and access to financing, remove barriers to affordable homes, and much more. We also partner with other trade associations, private organizations, and state agencies to collaboratively develop projects and educational events that will help Oregonians and policy makers learn about the many qualities of manufactured housing. But educating and partnering isn’t enough. OMHA staff participates in committees tasked with shaping legislative concepts, attends hearings, and testifies about bills. Especially with Oregon lawmakers’ push for a rapidly expanding housing market, OMHA is tasked with promoting our members’ businesses, expertise, and capacity to alleviate the housing shortage.

OMHA doesn’t stop with advocacy. We consider it imperative to help elect candidates who understand the obstacles faced by attainable housing, are willing to learn about the benefits of manufactured housing, and support pro-business legislation. This is why we maintain our OMHA PAC (Political Action Committee). We identify candidates who believe that you, Oregon businesses and residents, are integral parts of our communities, and we contribute to their election campaigns. Whether you are an industry partner directly affected by legislation or an individual who shares our vision for supporting the home ownership dreams of Oregonians, we invite you to contribute to the OMHA PAC.

Disclaimer: Oregon offers an income tax credit for qualifying Oregon tax filers who contribute to qualifying state, federal or local political campaigns. Advocacy in Action

Keeping You Informed & Involved

Merriam-Websters defines advocacy as “the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal.” Within OMHA, we value our members and know that advocating for pro-business policies is one of the most crucial aspects of representing those who entrust us with their membership and financial contributions. We hold ourselves accountable to members by sharing legislative updates in person and through written communications.

Members are encouraged to participate in the legislative process and equipped with the knowledge of how to do so. If you would like to receive industry news and legislative updates, we encourage you to join OMHA membership.
